MTA Fiber Holdings to Construct First All-Terrestrial Fiber Line from Alaska to Continental United States
As the first all-terrestrial fiber network connecting Alaska to the contiguous United States, the Alaska Canada Overland Network (AlCan ONE) will initially support up to 100 terabits per second with capacity easily added later. MTA currently pays other carriers to transport broadband traffic to and from the state, but the new dedicated connection will provide a cost savings and higher reliability to the company’s customers.
